“Dad Was Never Around” Re ...
In a chat with Bollywood Bubble, Tina Ahuja, daughter of one of India’s most acclaimed actors, Govinda, revealed that her father was hardly around during her growing years as he was extremely busy with work. In the 1990s Govinda rose to great fame and was always in demand, which gave him very little to no time for his family. She further shared that she only got time to bond with her dad after she started working for him. Just like her father, Tina tried her luck in acting, however, her career did not take off well and she had to stick to the off-screen roles with her father.
“People don’t know this, but my dad has hardly come to my school. In my school days, my dad was never around. It was always my mom getting our lunch, going for those… He was hardly there. This was one way of me getting to know my dad well. He was hardly there in school days, he was either in Hyderabad or Switzerland. So, I started really liking working with Dad. People started giving me extra attention and importance.” she shared.
Earlier, Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja also talked about his absence during Tina’s birth on the Timeout With Ankit podcast. “When our daughter was born, he’d scheduled five shifts on that same day. My mother-in-law was there with me, and after every shift, he’d check in and ask if the baby had been born. When he was on his third shift of the day, Tina was born. I didn’t realise how big a star he was,” she revealed.
She further added, “To be a hero’s wife, aapko dil mein itna bada patthar rakhna padega ya toh aap shadi na karo hero se (you have to have a heart of stone or you shouldn’t marry a hero),”
