The last couple of weeks have been quite challenging for the Pataudi’s and it ain’t hard to understand why. The burglary attempt and knife attack on actor Saif Ali Khan, have shaken the whole family to the core. In an exclusive Interview with Delhi Times, he shared how the whole incident has affected his children. Read to know.
Saif revealed that Taimur showed sympathy towards the attacker and wanted him to be forgiven initially because he believed that the man did it out of hunger. He revealed “Taimur said that he should be forgiven because he believed that the guy was hungry. I also believe I would have forgiven him. I feel bad for him – till where that knife comes in and my spine comes in and the fact that he tried to kill me (laughs). That’s where I stopped feeling bad for him.”

Saif also opened up about how Taimur insisted that he’ll accompany him to the hospital after the attack. “He was absolutely composed. He was fine. He said, ‘I’m coming with you.’ And I thought, if something happens… I was getting a lot of comfort just from looking at him at that time. And I didn’t want to go alone. My wife (Kareena Kapoor) sent him knowing what he would do for me. Maybe it wasn’t… at the moment, it was the right thing to do. I felt good about it. And I also thought, if God forbid, something happens, I’d like for him to be there. And he wanted to be there also." he shared. Ever since the attack, the 8-year-old has been quite concerned about security.
Saif also recalled Taimur asking him "Are you going to die?", to which he replied "No"
Jeh, Saif’s youngest son, gave him a plastic sword for his protection and asked him to keep it in his bed. “The kids are okay, thank God. Jeh has given me a plastic sword, and said, ‘Keep this by your bed for the next time the chor (thief) comes’. He says, ‘Geeta saved Abba and Abba saved me.’ Saif shared.
Sara and Ibrahim have also been deeply affected by the incident. The latter has been spending a lot of time with Saif since the incident. It’s been really kind of nice for the family to come together, but also obviously, a bit of a shock for everyone." Saif explained.
