Popular actress Yami Gautam and husband Aditya Dhar welcomed a baby boy on May 10. Yami and Aditya took to Instagram to announce their son's name - ‘Vedavid’. They also revealed that their baby boy was born on the occasion of Akshay Tritya. So what does the name ‘Vedavid’ mean? Read on to know.

The unique name that Yami and Aditya have chosen for their child holds a deep cultural and spiritual meaning. The name ‘Vedavid’ means ‘one who is very well versed with the Vedas’. "Veda" comes from The Vedas which are ancient, sacred scriptures of the Hindus. Vedavid is also considered to be another name for Lord Ram, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva.

Yami and Aditya have always been known to have a strong spiritual and religious side. They are often seen visiting places of religious significance as well as talking about their religious beliefs. During one of her film promotions, Yami said “Every ounce of Success and Love I have been receiving is all because of my beloved Maa Durga and Lord Shiva. I truly feel blessed!” She also revealed that her husband gifted her the Ramayana when she was pregnant. The name that they have chosen for their baby is a reflection of their belief system.
