He explains how digital media and the vast pool of unfiltered information, available online, influences baby feeding practices .Sugar (carbohydrates) is the primary source of fuel for our bodies as it is readily available. Naturally occurring sugars are present in various foods. For instance, fruits contain fructose, sugarcane contains sucrose, grains contain starch that breaks down into maltose and milk contains lactose. We often underestimate the role of sugar in our body, and think of it as something unhealthy and useless. Our bodies need energy for normal functioning. In fact, our body consumes energy even when we respire. Sugar plays an important role in fueling our vital organs and supporting their efficient functioning. While sugar (carbohydrates) is Important for our overall well-being, we should not forget excess of everything is bad. For kids, we need to avoid giving too much sweets and try to make their diet a balanced one.
Note - Sugars as referred here are a source of carbohydrates and include all forms of sugars- lactose, maltose, fructose sucrose, etc.
