Isha Ambani Says She Open ...
In an interview to Vogue India, Isha Ambani, business leader and daughter of business tycoon Mukesh Ambani said “I’m very quick to say that my twins were conceived via IVF because that’s how we’ll normalise it.” She isn’t the first celebrity to embrace the method of In Vitro Fertilization.
The IVF process, including the laboratory fertilisation of an egg, has given hope to many couples looking to conceive but are dealing with infertility issues. However, the process often remains a bit of a taboo topic in India.
Isha Ambani and her partner Anand Piramal were blessed with twins through IVF in November, 2022. In fact, Isha herself was conceived after her mother, Nita Ambani underwent IVF.
In the same interview, Isha added, “Nobody should feel isolated or ashamed. It’s a difficult process. When you’re going through it, you’re physically exhausted.”
She said that the only way we normalise the process as a society is by talking more openly about it.
In the past, Farah Khan, the director and choreographer became one of the first celebrities to embrace IVF publicly, to have triplets at age 43. This was in 2008. Other celebrities who’ve chosen the IVF route include Indian director Kiran Rao, Hollywood celebrity Kim Kardashian and former first lady of the United States Michelle Obama.
IVF stands for "In Vitro Fertilization." It's a medical process where an egg is fertilized by sperm outside the body, in a laboratory dish. After fertilization, the embryo(s) are then implanted into the uterus to hopefully result in pregnancy. IVF is often used by couples who have difficulty conceiving naturally.

Infertility in couples can arise from issues such as damaged or blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis, male infertility, or unexplained factors. Even individuals who are typically fertile, such as single women, same-sex couples, or those with genetic concerns, may choose IVF as a path to parenthood.
IVF provides a ray of hope and potential solutions for couples facing challenges in conceiving naturally. Typically recommended after a year of unsuccessful attempts at conceiving a child through unprotected intercourse, IVF offers the hope for those longing to build a family. It may however be a journey filled with highs and lows, both physically and mentally.
However, the IVF process doesn’t necessarily guarantee success, and so, before embarking on your IVF journey, you must consult a medical professional to understand side effects, risks and all other details associated with the IVF process.
