Raveena Became A Mom At 21

Back in 1995, when Raveena was merely 21 years old, she made the powerful decision to adopt her cousin’s daughters, Pooja and Chaya. It wasn’t just her age that made the decision challenging, but also the fact that she was unmarried at that point in time. But, as they say, ‘Motherhood knows no boundaries’ and nothing could stop Raveena from proving it right. Irrespective of all the unsolicited opinions and advice, she stood firm.

“There was something about them that made me feel that me being a 21-year-old doesn’t matter. I can say it has been the best decision of my life. I cherish each and every moment I have shared with them, from taking them into my arms for the first time to walking them down the aisle.” Raveena shared in an interview with Pinkvilla

Raveena decided to keep the news under the covers for some time for the sake of her girls. She once shared in an interview, “In those days, a scandal could be created out of anything. When I did adopt the girls, initially, I did not talk about them at all, till they passed their 10th standard and after that, they started hanging out with me on my shoots. Then, everyone started asking, ‘Who are these girls?’ And I would start telling them this is how it is,”

She further added, “You were so scared that even if you say something, what will these people make it out to be? Magazine wale bol denge ki isko secretly baby ho gaya, kiska baby hai. It was that era. Itna gandh tha unke minds mein. To avoid such stories, I just did it very quietly,”

Raveena Tandon Shares A Special Bond With Her Girls

Raveena shares a very beautiful bond with her girls. “My daughters are my best friends. I remember, when I got married, they were the ones who sat in the car and led me to the mandap. And now, I got the chance to walk them down the aisle. It is such a special feeling.” she shared in an interview. 

When Raveena adopted the girls, Pooja was 11 and Chhaya was 8. She married Anil Thadani in 2004 and the couple welcomed their first child, Rasha Thadani in 2005. In 2008, Raveena gave birth to their son, Ranbirvardhan. Pooja and Chaya are now married and have their own kids. Rasha Thadani, who is 21, made her debut in Bollywood with the movie Azaad, opposite Aaman Devgan.
