Kolkata House Of Horror: How A Teen Boy Escaped His Parents’ Deadly Family Suicide Plan

The past couple of days have been no less than a nightmare for 14-year-old Pratip Dey, one of the three survivors of the high-speed car crash on Kolkata’s EM Bypass. However, it wasn’t the accident itself that grabbed the headline, but rather the shocking discovery that followed. Read to know how, what was initially intended to be a suicide ended up leading to the murder of his mother, aunt, and cousin. 

On February 19, a high-speed car carrying three members of the same family – 14-year-old Pratip, his father Pranay Dey, and his uncle Prasun Dey slammed into a pillar near Avishikta crossing. While all three survived the fatal accident, police investigation revealed something really distressing. Three women of the same family were found lifeless in their Tangra Home on the same day – Pratip’s mother Sudeshna, his aunt Romi, and his cousin Priyamvada, who was of the same age as him. 

Pratip’s father revealed that the whole family had allegedly made a suicide plan consumed sedatives and cut themselves. While the three women reportedly succumbed, the men decided to slam their car and end their lives in a road accident. It is suspected that they took this drastic step owing to financial losses that they suffered during the Pandemic and never recovered.

Shocking Revelation By Pratip

While Pratip’s father and uncle tried to make it seem like a suicide, Pratip finally revealed the truth that brought something horrific to light. The 14-year-old has alleged that the three women did not end their lives by suicide and were killed by Pranay and Prasun when they wanted to back out of the plan. Pratip has also claimed that the two tried to kill him by smothering him with a pillow, however, he pretended to be dead by holding his breath. Eventually, Pratip decided to join Pranay and Prasun because all his loved ones were gone and he would be left alone. 

While this case continues to remain a mystery with many conflicting angles, we cannot help but think about what the 14-year-old has endured in the past couple of days.
