A video by a Dubai homemaker, trader, and influencer, Malaikah Raja, is making rounds on the internet, sending waves of awe across the globe. The video, in which she has shared the ultra-luxury gifts, ‘push-presents’, that were given to her by her husband for giving birth to their second child, a daughter, has garnered millions of views. What Is A Push Present?

A push present refers to the present gifted to a pregnant woman by his spouse, soon after birth, as a token of love and appreciation. While the concept may seem foreign, it is believed to have started in India and derived from the concept of ‘Godh Barai’ in which a pregnant woman is showered with jewelry, money, blessings, and other gifts. 

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan gifted his wife Kajol a Mercedes to celebrate the birth of their daughter Nysa. Sanjay Dutt gifted a Rolls Royce Ghost to his wife Manyata when their twins, Shahraan and Iqra were born.

Malaikah Raja’s Lavish Push Presents

In the video shared by her, Malaikah can be heard saying "An expensive baby girl. How many someone so tiny be emptying his bank account already? How much did I charge my husband to give him our second baby?" 

Wondering what she got from her husband?

Her first present was a customized pink Mercedes-Benz G Wagon, followed by a luxurious house worth 17.3 crores. "A million dollars on renovations and interior design to change the lighting and flooring and a customised pool because I am not leaving the house to go swimming," she shared in the video.

She also received 8 Dior bags worth more than 86 lakhs for their daughter’s bag collection, and Van Cleef bracelets worth 70 lakhs. Apart from all these, Malaikah would be getting around 8.6 lakhs for her and their baby’s daily post-partum massages to help her recover. An additional 43 lakhs to buy clothes from high-end brands for the baby, a tennis bracelet worth 1 crore 73 lakhs, and gold jewelry worth more than 65 lakhs for the baby.
