Age Criteria For Delhi Nursery School Admission 2025-26
The Directorate of Education (DoE) has specified that the minimum age for nursery admission in Delhi is three years, as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The maximum age limit for the same is 4 years. Your child is eligible for admission if they are born between 01 April 2020 and 31 March 2021.
(Note: The age criteria are strictly enforced, however, some schools may allow a relaxation of 30- days on the upper or lower limit.)
Documents Required For Delhi Nursery School Admission 2025-26
You need to keep the following list of documents while seeking admission to Delhi Nursery School.

Passport-size photographs of the child and parents (2 each)

Family photograph of the child with both parents

Birth certificate of the child for age-proof

How to Apply For Delhi Nursery School Admission 2025-26
Follow these steps to apply for Delhi Nursery School Admissions 2025-26
Step 1 - Visit the official website of the Education Department Govt of NCT of Delhi (edudel.nic.in)
Step 2 - Click on the link for Nursery Admissions
Step 3 - Share the required credentials and fill out the application form very carefully, avoiding mistakes, as this helps to lower the chances of the form being rejected
Step 4 - Upload the required documents
Step 5 - You will be required to pay the application fee of ₹25
Step 5 – You can now submit the duly filled application form online. Make sure to keep a copy for reference.

Point System For Delhi Nursery Admission 2025-26
The Directorate of Education (DoE) of Delhi follows a point system for nursery school admissions, according to which each child is allotted some points based on different factors. These include:

Neighborhood or distance: Children who live close to the school get higher points.

0 -1 km get the highest points (around 60 - 70)

1 - 3 km get moderate points

3 - 8 km or more get less points
-
Sibling factor: The child may get around 20 to 30 points if their sibling study in the same school

Alumni factor: The child may get around 5 to 10 points if their parents are alumni of the same school
(Note: The point allocation may vary from one school to another. )
