Recipe: Carrot, Split Pea & Potato Soup (6 months - 12 months)

Carrot, split pea and potato soup is a wonderful meal option for babies as all the 3 ingredients are packed with nutrients that aid in their well-being, development and growth. The recipe also works with dried lentils. Once you make the soup, it can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or you can freeze it for up to 3 months. The recipe is simple and offers balanced nutrition to your little one. It is easy to digest and has mild flavors that are gentle on their delicate digestive system. While the ingredients are least likely to cause any allergy, it is advisable to start with small portions and consult a specialist before introducing it in their diet.

½ cup (125 ml) dried split peas

1 cup (250 ml) carrot, peeled and chopped

1 cup (250 ml) potato, peeled and chopped

Step 1: Place split peas, carrots, potatoes and water in a large pot.
Step 2: Bring to a boil, and then reduce heat to low.
Step 3: Simmer until the split peas are soft enough to be mashed with a fork. Add more water if needed.
