Cab Driver Helps Woman Deliver Her Baby In Gurugram — People Call Him Hero

In an unexpected, rather surprising turn of events, Vikas, a cab driver from Gurugram became an overnight hero, winning hearts with his selfless act. His quick thinking and compassion helped him save not one but 2 lives and he did it all without demanding a single extra penny. Read to know about his heroic act. 

Rohan Mehra from Dundahera, Surya Vihar in Sector 21 Gurugram, booked a ride to Vikas Nagar in Sector 10, to take his pregnant wife to the hospital. Unexpectedly, the latter went into labour while they were on the way. Vikas, on realizing the urgency of the situation didn’t hesitate to step in. He helped the couple’s cook, who was also accompanying them, deliver the baby safely inside his cab. Once the baby was safely delivered, Vikas continued to show immense care and professionalism, driving the family to the hospital. 

Showing his appreciation, Rohan shared the wonderful incident on Reddit, where he wrote,  "So today I booked a Rapido for my cook as his wife was pregnant. The driver made the heartwarming gesture as a true human being. She was in a lot of pain while going to the hospital and couldn’t bear the pain and delivered the baby boy in the car itself. The driver helped the cook deliver the baby and took them to the hospital afterwards."

Remarkably, Vikas didn’t even charge a single extra penny from the couple beyond the standard fare. This incident serves as a beautiful reminder of how people come together to do extraordinary things when others are in need.

Rohan wanted to express his gratitude to Vikas but was not able to track him as the number was not shared. He later reached out to Rapido co-founder Pavan Guntupalli, seeking his help in locating Vikas.

Rohan’s post, in which he shared a screenshot of the ride details, was captioned, “I would like to request Rapido and Pavan Guntupalli to help us reach that driver. His name was Vikas and I have also provided the ride details below,” 

We hope Rohan finds Vikas and gets a chance to thank him for his act of bravery and kindness.
