Atul Subhash’s Last Message To His Son Will Leave You In Tears
Story behind it

Being separated from your child can be an incredibly painful experience that can give rise to a plethora of uncontrollable emotions. 34-year-old Atul Subhash was overpowered by these emotions, which ultimately forced him to end his life. “He gave his life fighting against the system”, says his brother Bikas Modi.

Atul, who was an automobile company executive from Uttar Pradesh, was found dead in his Bengaluru residence. However, he didn’t want his story to go unheard. He left behind a 24-page long note with the words ‘Justice is due’ written on every page and a 1.5-hour-long video in which he accused his wife and her family of being responsible for his death.

Atul shared that he was constantly harassed by them and that they filed false cases against him, all of which drained him mentally and emotionally. Subhash’s brother Bikas shared that he was facing as many as 9 to 10 cases. His wife had allegedly demanded Rs 30 lakh to allow him to visit his son who is now four years old.

    Atul’s Message To His Son

"Son - When I first saw you, I thought that I could give my life for you any day. But, sadly, I am giving my life because of you. I don’t even remember your face now till I see pictures of you when you were 1 year old. I don’t feel anything about you now except a tinge of pain sometimes. Now, you just feel like a blackmail using which I will be extorted more and more. Though it would hurt you, the truth is that now you feel like a mistake I made… Till I am alive and make money, they will use you as a tool to harass your grandparents, uncle, and me to extort more and more money from me. I can’t let all this harass my father, mother, and brother unnecessarily. Not even for you. I can sacrifice 100 sons like you for my father. I can sacrifice a 1000 of me for you. But I will not be the reason for the harassment of my father."

"Now with me gone, there will not be any money to loot and I hope that they might start to look at the facts of the cases. Someday, you shall know the real face of your mother and her greedy family. I pray that they don’t devour you and your soul. I often laugh when I remember that I started saving money (inflation-adjusted??) for a car when you go to college. Silly me. Remember this always that you don’t owe anything to anyone. Don’t trust society. Don’t trust the system. Both - society and the system want to feed off of you. If my blood wins in you, you shall live, love, and fight with all your heart and craft beautiful things & destroy problems with your mind. May you live a life with the confidence & pride I lived with. May you not turn out to be a socialist or communist leech which is the highest form of corruption i.e. corruption of the soul. Goodbye, my son!"

"So it was more like his way of telling the system that it is not helping men and there is a lot of bias. During COVID times he was taking care of his wife and a kid. His wife was also infected with COVID and she had a lot of issues. So he went ahead to procure medicines for her and she wasn't taking them on time which created some friction that escalated into multiple issues and then she left him along with the baby and he could not see his son. One particular point that I got to know recently from him was that he got a maintenance order for his son who is barely four or five years old, 40,000 rupees per month," said Atul’s close friend, Jackson.

Atul’s death leaves us with a big question, ‘Is there anything that could have changed this young father’s fate?” Let us know what you think in the comments below.
