Titas Sadhu - An Accident ...
History has been created as the Indian Women’s U-19 Cricket Team made an outstanding record and became the first-ever champions of the U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. Under the guidance of her father, a 13-year-old, right-arm fast bowler from West Bengal, Titas Sadhu’s marvelous bowling changed the whole game. Along with Titas, spinner Archana Devi also created magic with her spin. Not many fans knew about Titas Sadhu’s talent and skills but this youngster has now become a popular name after her tremendous performance.
Who is Titas Sadhu and what is her journey?
Hailing from a small district of West Bengal, Titas was 13 when she started her cricket journey. A few years ago, Titas was accompanying her father Ranadeep Sadhu to the Chinsurah Rajendra Smriti Sangha Academy in West Bengal. Titas’s job was only to help her father in tallying scorecards for other players. Titas started her sports career as a sprinter, switched to swimming, and then table tennis. She was hardly interested in cricket but her destiny had more to offer and her spell-bound bowling made India win the U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup.
In one of her interviews, Sadhu told how she developed her interest in Cricket. One day, when the swimming pool was closed, her father invited her to play a cricket match and since then her cricket journey has started. Titas had to drop out of her school to pursue her dreams.
In 2019-20. Titas was selected for the Bengal U-19 but due to her 10th board exams, she couldn’t join. In the following year, she made her senior debut for the Bengal T20 Women’s team under captain Rumeli Dhar.

Mr. Sadhu is also a state-level sprinter and runs an academy in West Bengal. Along with his father, a right-arm bowler Titas, was also
trained under Priyankar Mukhopadhyay and Devdulal Roy Chowdhury. Titas’ idol is former fast bowler Jhulan Goswami who belongs to Bengal as well.
