Summer is over and it marked the end of long vacations as well! The weather gave way to monsoon with its pitter-patter raindrops. The paper boats are out and so are splashing in the puddles, but with rains also come the risk of monsoon related diseases read malaria, dengue, cholera and many more. So how do you ensure that your child enjoys rains and stay healthy as well this monsoon?  

The weather restricts offer many alternatives to engage your child. The schools are opened and about to reopen but with continuous showers your child can’t go out to play so it is better to create some options where your child can enjoy the rains without being perturbed by the rains outside.

    You can either create a golf course like the one in the image, or play bowling alley indoors with your child. Bowling kit is available in the market or you can make your own by stacking some similar size plastic bottles and a medium size ball.

    4. Some rain time is fine:

    Keeping your child indoors all the time can also be not possible at times. So when he or she wants to venture out let him or her go. However, once your child is back then make sure that he/she takes a shower, completely dries herself and then do anything else. 

    5. Late night family drives 

    Late night drives will give your child a taste of the city with less traffic and lights all around. With rain everything is washed and carries a fresh look. And with a light cool breeze blowing the weather is also pleasant for you to enjoy the late night drives during rains. And if it starts to rain again – it becomes all the more fun..  

    6. Quality time with friends

    Since the rains prevent playing outside, you can invite your child’s friends to come over a cup of  hot chocolate and some steamy snacks like pakoras, bhajiyas among others and let them have fun with indoor games.

    7. Play some good old rain numbers and dance on them 

    A great way to bond as a family to play some rain songs and dance with your family in a gay abandon. Your child will enjoy these spontaneous moments of fun with you and their father.
