India’s Youngest Milliona ...
India may have just found it’s youngest millionaire in a 4-month-old baby who is none other than Narayana Murthy’s grandson. The baby in question, Ekagrah Murty, was born to parents Aparna Krishnan and Rohan Murty in November 2023.
In a major financial move, NR Narayana Murthy, the co-founder of Infosys gifted shares over ₹240 crores to his four-month-old grandson. This is a big step in generational wealth transfer in the Murthy family, with the youngest member holding 15,00,000 Infosys shares, constituting a 0.04 percent stake in the company.
Rohan Murty and Aparna Krishnan’s son, Ekagrah is the third grandchild of NR Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murty. His name is reportedly inspired by the unwavering focus and determination in Sanskrit. His other grandchildren are Krishna and Anoushka Sunak, daughters of Akshata Murty and British Prime MInister, Rishi Sunak. They were born in 2011 and 2013 respectively.
While Ekagrah is the newest family shareholder in Infosys, others in the family also hold significant shares in the company. Additionally, Sudha N Murty, Narayana Murthy's wife, owns 3,45,50,626 shares in Infosys. This amounts to 1.05%, 1.64% and 0.93% stake in the company respectively.
