1. Mussoorie

As one of India's most popular hill stations, Mussoorie is also referred to as Queen of the Hills. A visit to Mussoorie is best during summer when it provides a welcome break from the sweltering heat. At an altitude of 7000 feet above sea level, it is surrounded by the Garhwal Himalayan ranges and offers a cool, pleasant climate all year long.

2. Udaipur

Delhi is a short distance away from Udaipur, a great summer weekend getaway for your kids. The sights, sounds, and culture of Rajasthan can be enjoyed here. You can take your kids to the puppet show at City Palace and the Sound and Light Show at the Palace in the evening.

Taking the train from New Delhi to Udaipur takes 12h 20m and costs the least. Flights from New Delhi to Maharana Pratap Airport are the fastest way to reach Udaipur in 1h 20m.

3. Nainital

It is one of the most famous and beautiful hill stations in Uttarakhand, India. Nainital is surrounded by mountains on three sides. It is also known as the "lake district of India." The town of Nainital is located around a beautiful lake named Naini Tal. 

There are a couple of places and activities in Nainital that are quite engaging for kids. 

• Snow view: Children can take a cable car to the mountain top known as snow view, where there are plenty of rides and activities for them to enjoy. 

• Skating and ropeway: Nainital has a skating rink located close to the lake, which is a major attraction. Ropeways are also a major attraction for kids and adults.

• Eco Cave Gardens: Another interesting attraction in Nainital for kids is the Cave Garden. Several natural caves have been made kid-friendly so children can have a blast exploring and crawling through them. This is an experience of a lifetime for them.

 Making travel plans:

Direct rail service is not available from Delhi to the Nainital railway station. The easiest way to reach Nainital is to use a train to get to the nearby station, then book a cab, taxi, or bus. Kathgodham Railway Station is the nearest railhead to Nainital. It is located 34 km away.

Nainital is a hill station and does not have direct air connectivity. A 65-kilometer drive from Nainital brings you to Pantnagar, the nearest airport.
