Alia Bhatt Gets Real About How Life Changes After Becoming A Parent

This is the era of celebrity babies! Bollywood babies have captured the attention of the average Indian for years now. When Kareena Kapoor gave birth to her first child, it was enough to send the media into a tizzy. Paparazzi culture has since peaked in the country and celeb children have become as famous as their parents if not more. Raha Kapoor is Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s 1 year-old daughter. In a recent interview with CNBC TV 18, Alia shared how Raha has completely changed her life, splitting parenting duties with husband, Ranbir and worrying about whether she’s making the right decisions for her daughter.

She says, “I steer away from giving parenting advice because I feel everybody’s journey is different. I come from a position of privilege where I can afford help if I am not available. My husband and I, very early on, decided that either of us should be there, available for Raha at all times. So we are constantly splitting our roles. When I am travelling he’s home, if he’s travelling I am at home, just one of us should be with her at all times. If we cannot manage to schedule we have grandparents ready to kind of jump up and be happy helpers.”

Alia also gives us an insight into how she is as a parent when it comes to worrying about the wellbeing of her child.“To be honest with you, the balance is never going to be easy. Women and men in our country have worked for years and have brought up kids, and kids have grown up and have become their own people. But, as a parent or a mother, you are always worried and nervous about whether you are making the right decision or not. I think the day I became a mother, I opened up my life to worrying non-stop, so I am always worrying, and I am just comfortable with worrying. All I can say is that I do my best and leave everything to the rest.”

Alia Bhatt shares her  struggles with juggling life after having a child. Her worry for her daughter and plan on how to share childcare duties with her partner reflects that while every parenting journey is different, there is none without any challenges.
